In Germany, sea burials generally take place in designated areas of the North Sea or Baltic Sea beyond the coastal zone. Arrangements in other seas may be possible. Inland waterways are generally excluded, apart from limited exceptions.

You call us or inquire online – we'll calmly discuss everything and answer your questions. With a simple funeral power of attorney, we'll take care of every organizational step for you from that point on.
We collect the deceased person around the clock – from their home, a hospital, nursing home, or hospice. Subsequently, our experienced regional partners ensure a dignified transfer to a local crematorium.
We report the death to the registry office and apply for the death certificates on your behalf. We will inform you in advance which documents we require from you, depending on the marital status.
Once approved, we coordinate the cremation and handle all necessary paperwork. Afterwards, we transfer the urn to your chosen location – be it a cemetery, a burial forest, or a port for a sea burial.
Depending on the type of funeral, we organize the interment locally or in the surrounding area. Upon request, we can also plan the farewell ceremony – personalized and tailored to your wishes.
Using the death certificates, we manage the deregistration with health and pension insurance. For married individuals, we also apply for the survivor's pension for the surviving partner.
All regular services are included in the package price. Only the costs for the burial site are extra — these depend on the region and cemetery.
An anonymous or accompanied sea burial is possible. The package includes guidance, transport, cremation and paperwork. Anonymous burial starts at €1,900; accompanied arrangements start at €2,350 plus any applicable additional charges.
You pay these costs directly to the cemetery or crematorium — we list them transparently.
Cremation, a water-soluble urn approved for sea burial and the necessary authorisation are required. Weather can affect sailing dates. The captain and funeral team coordinate the service and record the burial position.
