How can you financially secure a funeral?

So that your loved ones are not burdened with the costs in an emergency, there are two proven options for financial provision:

1. Escrow account
You deposit the desired amount once in a special escrow account. The money is earmarked, safe from access by third parties (e.g. for care costs) and is used exclusively for the funeral.

2. Death benefit insurance
If you prefer to pay monthly, death benefit insurance is a good idea. This is how you build up a secure pension cushion step by step with small contributions.

Anyone who prepares early should not only arrange the funeral, but also prepare central documents:

Funeral pension contract: Here you can record all your wishes relating to your subsequent burial — from the type of burial to financial security.
power of attorney: With a pension power of attorney, you determine who can make decisions for you in an emergency — for example when dealing with authorities or banking transactions.
Health care directive: It determines which medical measures may be taken in an emergency — and which may not.
will: In this way, you clearly regulate what should happen with your estate and avoid possible disputes between relatives.
